New Postal Changes will take effect August 31st, 2009

HOUSE NUMBER AND MAILBOX WILL BE MANDATORY

Effective August 31, 2009, NEW  Post Office regulations state all homes must have the house number in a visible area of the property and the post box must be located as close as practicable to the highway or private road boundary entrance to the property. Non-compliance will result in non-delivery of mail.

 

LETTERS INCORRECTLY ADDRESSED WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER 

Effective August 31, 2009, NEW Post Office regulations state that the mail will only be delivered to a person's street address if there is a complete address including the correct postal code. Non-compliance will result in non-delivery of mail.

BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS

Effective August 31, 2009, NEW Post Office regulations state that all multi-story commercial buildings will require a cluster-box unit, or a centralized reception area, on the ground floor for delivery to all tenants in that building.  Non-compliance will result in non-delivery of mail.

CONDOMINIUM REQUIREMENTS

Effective August 31, 2009, NEW Post Office regulations state that all condominium developments will require a cluster-box unit, or a centralized reception area, on the ground floor in a multi-story building to ensure delivery.  Non-compliance will result in non-delivery of mail.
